MILESTONES TO KEEP ON YOUR RADAR – DRAWING SHAPES

Age 3 = circle, 4 = cross, 5 = square, 6 = triangle, and 7 = diamond

MNEMONICS: Multiply the above ages by TWO. The product creates a shape similar to one a child can draw at that age!

MNEMONIC: Remember the intro peg for 3? It’s a STOOL. Imagine a 3-year-old drawing a circle that looks like the top of a STOOL!

MNEMONIC: A 4-year-old can draw a CROSS. There are 4-points on a CROSS/PLUS sign. Also, a plus sign (+) looks like a “4.”
